Papers please...
Well with the House passing the Real ID Act, we take some large steps to having some sort of National ID card and losing more freedom. I think it is funny that this is coming from the Republican party, who long criticized Democrats for wanting to implement these kind of things.
I also wonder how the Christian Right is going to feel. I know that family members of mine always viewed the government putting out one of these kind of cards as a stepping stone to the Apocolypse. Many of the "Chick" publications extol this as a tool of the Beast. All this from a President that they put in for "moral" issues.
Reminds me of the quote by Benjamin Franklin..."Those who would give up essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty nor security."
